Decoupage research
Decoupage
is the art of cutting out different shapes and stacking them up to give it
depth and the illusion of coming our and the viewer. Choosing the technique to
use the word decoupage comes from Middle French "decouper", meaning
to cut out or cut from something it originated in French but has been used all
over the world for example in east Siberia where they decorated the tombs with
bits of cut up felt. They also did it in Florence
Italy
where they would create biblical scenes and ship them all over the world and
sell them in markets. It is now commonly found in card making and decorating
home furniture. There are to types of decoupage for example the pyramid where
it is raised away from the base layer and reverse pyramid where it goes into
the image.
